A Month of Writing

May 2, 2013

Hi folks!

I know. I’ve been gone far too long. A lot of things going on in life. So mote it be.

Anyway, I’ve returned to keep you all up-to-date on my newest venture: a complete month of writing.

“Bitch you must be cray.”

I plan on writing a novel during the month of May. This is a goal, and I understand I may or may not be able to complete said goal. I don’t want to get my, or your, hopes up. However, I am determined to try.

Last year, I did not complete my goal of 50K words during NaNoWriMo 2012. I had succeeded in the three years before, but last year had too much going on.

I’m not going to lie. It has haunted me.

“OH GOD WHY!?”

So I plan on making up that failure during the month of May. And if anything, it’s just good exercise to get back on the horse.

Yesterday, I wrote 950 words. I thought it was a decent start.

The story: Twenty-five-year-old Samuel just lost his job, his home, and he’s forced to move back in with his parents. Desperate for work, he finds a position that sounds too good to be true, but he signs the contract without reading the Terms & Conditions. Now, he’s in a fight for his soul as he becomes Ruler over a Hell dimension disguised as a law firm.

Sounds familiar, right?

“We did the evil law firm thing first.”

I promise this is different. The law firm does make deals with all types of people in order to feed off their souls. However, this isn’t exactly good vs. evil. Samuel’s journey will be about learning to balance good and evil while also coming out of his shell and becoming assertive on the path of life. This story is more about growing up and finding one’s self. Also, making the best out of a bad situation.

I will keep you all posted on the progress, so stay tuned. Happy May!

Well, at least for you guys.
